Brand New Toy

Today, my grandmother bought me my first sewing machine. It is a Singer Curvy, brand-spanking new, and I am obsessed with it even though I haven't opened the box yet. I have always hand sewn projects, a skill I find rewarding as well as exhausting, but I CANNOT wait to pop it open and fire it up. I have several projects lined up already, so many, in fact, I'm not sure I'll have time for school work and a social life. I wish I could just focus on something for a week or two at a time and then switch up; wouldn't that be easier? You could really sink your teeth into something instead of being interrupted all the time by life. That is most likely the reason I stay up so late; people are sleeping at four am, not calling you to hang out.

On another note, I have tried, unsuccessfully, to cancel my accidental subscription to Cosmopolitan several times, but apparently they didn't care and sent one to me anyways. As I was flipping through it (I really do love it, I just have five other subscriptions), I came across their fashion section. Not renown for their forward fashion thinking, I was surprised to see they featured many of the same fall trends as Glamour and Lucky (p.s. where is my Vogue????? I need you desperately September Issue!!): military style outfits, grungey 90's wear, and trite prep wear. Nothing new really, neutrals, flannel, and back to school basics. Was that really the best you could do? What I am interested in the fall is the return of thigh highs, red dresses, and fur. Fur everywhere. Sorry, PETA, but I love fur. Always have, always will.

In the spirit of my new fashion choices, I have decided to invest in more red, make myself a furry vest and furry boot covers and buy more tights and thigh highs. So, expect to see some of that coming your way. Outie for now ;)
